Process is key to Joanna’s work. Each piece starts as a mixed media collage which Joanna uses to create a monochrome photogram - a darkroom method where the paper template is exposed directly to light. This unpredictable stage unlocks the image creating a vivid abstract silhouette that Joanna then deconstructs and rebuilds by hand using digital paintbrushes. Once the piece is complete, it’s transferred to silk screen and the final limited edition print is pulled.
Joanna works with skilled screen printers to create each piece. Joanna's large works are printed on British made Saunders Waterford 430gsm cotton paper which comes with two deckled and two torn edges. Each measure 56cm x 76cm and are priced at £250. Her 50cm x 50cm screen prints are made using 420gsm Somerset Satin cotton paper and have cut edges. Each is priced at £220. See current prints for sale here or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
